1.1 Prerequisites

Using the API requires a client id and client secret that is available on our platform. You can acquire any number of id and secret pairs you need or use a single key across your usage. Client IDs and secrets are generated from your account on Matter platform by navigating to the Partner API section from the main lobby.

1.2 Generate an API key

Access the Partner API section

To find the Partner API section, from the side navigation, or from the Matter home, look for the 'Partner API' option in the main menu. Once there, you’ll see the Partner API section, where you can access the API documentation, keys, and integration settings.

Create an API key

Once in the Partner API section, click on 'Create API Key.' You will be prompted to enter a unique name for your API key, which helps you identify it later. After naming the key, the system will generate a unique token that you'll use to authenticate your API requests.

Save client id & client secret

Lastly, you will generate a client ID and a secret key, which are essential for authenticating your API requests. Make sure to store this information securely, as the secret key will only be displayed once and cannot be retrieved later. If lost, you will need to generate a new key.
